Haute Coiffure Française's creations took the stage by storm at the Carrousel du Louvre. The creation team was in fine form, and put on a spectacular show.
Rock Inspiration
The first display was all about "Seduction", with leather and flame-coloured hair. This was followed by a series of Twilight-inspired looks entitled "Fascination" which delved into the bizarre, with red and orange styles, wispy volumes and dreadlocks. Modern and lively rock style is always characterised by a certain "Provocation", as was demonstrated by a third display where a purple crest on a stunning Grace Jones made waves and highly surprising cuts were carried off by the male models. And, rock was a source of "Temptations", in the final display, where the models were transformed into leopardesses: sensual, blonde and sporting animal-pattern tattoos.
Art Rock Collection
The collection made a comeback with a reinterpretation of rock looks. It featured long to short to mid-length cuts, pretty napes shaped with a razor, triangular sections superposed on top of one another, contrasting lengths and backcombed styles.
Art Rock Texture
This special styling display lent prime importance to volume. The most stunning style of the show, a sultry, wispy look with was created by Agata Kociolek, winner of the 2009 HCF Trophy, the international talents trophy organised by Haute Coiffure Française.
The magic of China
As special guests in Paris, the Chinese creation team put on a great show, earning no less than a standing ovation. Marvellous scenes unravelled on the podium, with traditional and modern clothing from the past, present and future. Audacious hairstyles with extreme volume doubled as backdrops for paintings at the nape, a work of beauty and perfect harmony. The show also featured dances and songs performed by an opera singer modelling a hairstyle with long peacock feathers. The magic of the black and white scenes depicting hairstyles in the form of a silk painting won over the audience.
Femininity back in fashion
At the Jiki fashion show, clothes and hair took on a chic, ultra-feminine allure.
This season, designers took inspiration from the 40s, with belted tailored suits, narrow skirts, flowing dresses and black and grey combinations all making their way onto the catwalk. Beautiful materials such as strass, satin and tulle were embellished with feathers and embroidery. These sensual looks were an inspiration to the Haute Coiffure Française stylists - we love the spectacular ribbon-like chignons where the models' locks are interlaced.
Instant charm!
Makeup took centre stage as Damien Dufresne opened the show with a makeup session which he ended by signing his model's white dresses with a paintbrush. This unusual gesture lent the display a soft, poetic tone. Asymmetrical styles, cone-shaped chignons with purple flowers and up dos with balls of multicoloured yarn. A sweet victory for the beautiful art of hairdressing!
